    Description

    U.S. Springfield Model 1873 Trapdoor Rifle with Bayonet. Serial no. 220613, .45-70 caliber, 33-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear adjustable elevation sight. Blued finish. V/P/(eagle head) proof to left side of barrel. Varnished walnut stock with two barrel bands, sling swivels, stack swivel and ramrod. Faint stamp to left side of wrist. US marked metal buttplate. Sold along with socket bayonet, metal scabbard and leather frog with brass US rosette hook.

    Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 30-40% of a thinning finish with noticeable wear and pitting. Wood showing scuffs, dings and bruising. Action good. Normal age wear and pitting to bayonet, scabbard and frog.
