    Description

    U.S. Model 1884 Trapdoor Rifle with California Militia Marking. Serial no. 491038, .45-70 caliber, 32 5/8-inch barrel. Blued finish with case-hardened breechblock and tang. Standard configuration. Buffington rear sight. Rear buttstock marked, "Cal. Inf." Left wrist with "SWP 1890" cartouche. Condition: Very good. Light brown transparent patina from exposure to nicotine. Stock with numerous dents, scratches and cracks. One small hole through buttstock. Bore is dark with moderate pitting.
