    Description

U.S. Model 1819 Hall Breech-Loading Percussion Conversion Rifle.
NVSN, .58 caliber, 32 ¾-inch barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Iron mountings finished with brown lacquer, including the barrel. Breech casehardened. Steel ramrod with button head end. Walnut stock with three barrel bands and metal buttplate. Top of breech marked "J. H. HALL / H. FERRY / US / 1832". Small "M" stamped in the stock behind the trigger. The Hall Model 1819 has can boast of several "firsts": it was the first breech loading military arm produced in large quantities and adopted as a regulation weapon nationally; it was also the first firearm successfully made with total interchangeability of parts and has the distinction of being the only gun presented by Act of Congress in lieu of a medal or other citation for gallantry in battle.

Condition: Very good. The metal exhibits some scattered age spotting; the stock has only a few shallow gouges, two small chips behind the receiver, and bruises but overall a very nice example. Mechanically crisp and the rifling remains strong.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
