    Sporterized U.S.Springfield Model 1898 Krag Rifle. Serial no. 122331, .45-70 caliber, 22 1/2-inch barrel with replacement blade front and buckhorn rear sights. Handguard absent. Single barrel band. Saddle ring absent. Hardwood stock with cartouche on left side reading: JLA/1899. Two sling swivels. Flat, steel buttplate with compartment cover. Condition: Good as configured. Retaining much of an old reblue. Stock appears to be modified from rifle configuration. Strong bore in need of cleaning.
