    Remington New York State Contract Rolling Block Saddle Ring Carbine. Unserialized, approximately .50-70 caliber, 22-inch round barrel with standard front and partial adjustable rear sights. Blued and case-hardened finish. Left side of barrel with inspector's B at the breech. Left side of rear sight showing 1877 patent date. Saddle ring present. Upper tang with Remingtons' Ilion address and last patent date of Nov. 7, 1871. Straight-grained walnut stock. Single barrel band marked with inspector's B. Left side of wrist stamped with cartouche and carved numerals 123. Right side of buttstock stamped in oval 3d R.C. Comb of stock stamped with 2/[signal flags]/N.Y./11/123. Unmarked curved steel buttplate. (See Flaydermann 5E-086.)
    Condition: Good. Barrel a mottled blue-brown patina with light nicks and scratches. Receiver with traces of case colors and patches of spotting and staining. Rear sight elevator absent. Wood is fair to good with moderate soiling and handling wear. Buttplate showing moderate to heavy pitting at heel. Bright bore with light to moderate wear. From the Michael Yeck Collection.
