    Rare Type 1 Hall / North Model 1840 Breechloading Percussion Carbine.

    Unserialized, .52 caliber, 21-inch barrel with fixed front and rear sights. Blued and case-hardened finish. Breechblock marked: U.S. / S. NORTH / MIDLTN. / CONN. / 1840. Top of wrist stamped: W. DUNCAN. Smooth walnut straight stock with two barrel bands. Lanyard ring. Metal buttplate.

    Condition: Good. Finish primarily a mottled grey patina with noticeable signs of age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Scattered scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
