Description
German J.P. Sauer & Sohn Single Shot Rifle.Serial no. 64156 [barrel and receiver], 9mm caliber, 26 1/2-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding leaf sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Various German proof marks. Checkered walnut pistolgrip stock and smooth fore-end. Dual trigger. Sling swivels. Metal buttplate. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 4692 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum, Part II.
Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 60-70% of a thinning finish with scattered signs of handling wear and fine patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs and dings present to wood. Action good. Bright bore.
