    Crated Sharps Business Rifle with Shooting Sticks. Serial no. 159672 (receiver, barrel and buttplate 9672), .45 caliber (2 7/8), 28-inch round barrel with Bridgeport address, blade front and Lawrence-marked V-notch rear sights. Breech marked: CAL. 45. Left side of breech marked: BUSINESS .45. Double-set triggers. Oil-finished walnut stock. Curved steel buttplate. Weight approximately 10 lbs. Contained in a hide-covered crate designed for the rifle and likely from the period of use. Sold together with a pair of shooting sticks.

    Included in the lot is a letter from Dr. Labowskie confirming that #159672 was in an 1875 invoiced shipment to Lee & Reynolds, Camp Supply, Indian Territory. Letter confirms .45 (2 7/8) Business Rifle.

    Condition: Good to very good. All metal surfaces with a smooth, mottled, gray-brown age patina. Buttstock: Good showing a little dryness. Small loss behind hammer. Fore-end with weathering. Losses on both sides along the barrel. Bore with heavy wear and heavy pitting. Action excellent.
