    Composite Remington Rolling Block Carbine. Unserialized, approximately .45 caliber, 20 1/2-inch round barrel with dovetailed front and ladder rear sights. Top of barrel marked 45/US at the breech. Upper tang with partial Remington's Ilion address. Left side of action with partial three-digit unit or rack-type number. Walnut stock. Curved steel buttplate with US on upper tang. Condition: Fair to good as configured. Barrel a bare metal surface with scattered patches of pitting and signs of having been cleaned. Front sight a likely replacement. Receiver with tool marks on both sides, upper tang screw a likely replacement. Forearm separated under barrel band. Front piece with remains of cleaning rod channel. Buttstock fair to good with heavy soiling and light scratches. Buttplate with patch of pitting at heel. Both screws with tool marks. Good bore with light pitting.
