    Scarce Winchester Model 1892 Lever Action Carbine with Half Magazine. Serial no. 79544, .38 caliber, 20-inch round barrel with Lyman globe/post-and-bead combination front sight and modified buckhorn-style rear sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened lever, hammer and buttplate. Varnished walnut stock. Left side of forearm with hand carved initials: "W.T." Manufactured in 1894. Condition: Fine. Retaining approximately 40-50% original finish. The barrel is thinning to a gray-brown patina with scattered spots and stains. Receiver with about 40% blue, the balance a gray patina with light pitting on frame forward of lever. Upper tang screw a likely replacement extending through the lower tang about 3/16-inch. Wood is fine with scattered scratches and stains. Hairline crack on right side running 3-inches from buttplate. Wrist with stain or old repair on left side near hammer. Action crisp.
