    Description

Rare Inland X Suffix U.S. Model M1 Semi-Automatic Carbine. Serial no. 5550169-X, .30 caliber carbine, 18-inch Inland marked barrel, dated 9-44 with standard front sight and type two adjustable rear sight. Parkerized military finish. Flat bolt. Low wood walnut stock, oval oiler recess, checkered metal buttplate, and four rivet hand guard. Ordnance cartouche on the right side of the butt. Lacking magazine. Sold with a military style canvas carrying bag. An interesting anomaly as it is just out of the published Inland assigned serial number block as well as being much lower than the published Saginaw subcontract serial block range.
Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 85-90% finish, the remainder worn mainly along the high spots. Stock has been lightly sanded. Hand guard may be a replacement. Crisp action. Bright bore.
