    Remington-Hepburn No. 3 Sporting Rifle. Serial no. 6546, .32-40 caliber (32. 2 1/8 under barrel), 30-inch octagonal barrel with blade type front and elevator adjustable rear sight. Blued finish with case-hardened frame. Vernier peep rear sight. Walnut stocks. Left side of action marked: Hepburns Pat / Oct. 7th 1879. Note: According to Flayderman's, right side of action should be marked with Hepburns patent. Barrel marked: E. Remington & Sons Ilion N.Y. Manufactured between 1883-1907. Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 5-10% blued finish with remaining balance a plum brown patina. Traces of case-hardening remain on action. Scattered patches of pitting throughout. Wood in good condition with light dings and scratches and light losses to fore-end near action. A.E. Farichild stamped on wood near pistolgrip area. Action good. Bore is good.
