    Maynard Model 1882 No. 7 or 8 Hunter's Sporting Rifle.
    Serial no. 14914, 28-inch octagonal to round barrel with front and rear sight. Blued finish with case-hardened frame. Tang drilled and tapped. No sight. Left side marked EDWARD MAYNARD / PATENTEE / 1873 and right side marked MASS ARMS CO. 1882. American walnut with schnable tip fore-end.

    Condition: Good to very good as cleaned. Retaining approximately 40-50% finish to barrel. 20-30% case-hardening to frame with balance including lever lightly pitted. Straight stock in good condition, with scuffs and mars, while fore-end has all finish missing. Appears to be marked inside fore-end with serial number, but faint. Metal and wood parts with some mold residue due to storage. Rear sight, a replacement. Action good. Bore ok.
