    Description

    Colt Model 1855 Revolving Saddle Ring Carbine.
    Serial no. 11268 [frame and triggerguard], .58 caliber, 21-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Saddle ring. Smooth walnut shoulder stock with brass triggerguard and metal carbine buttplate.
    Provenance: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Sold to benefit the Museum's collections and acquisitions.

    Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina, with heavy signs of wear and surface rust. Scattered scuffs and dings to wood. Noticeable wood loss and crack to left side of stock at wrist. Action functions. Dark bore.
