    U.S. Springfield 1864 Percussion Musket.

    Unserialized, .58 caliber, 39-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding sight. Top of barrel dated 1864, along with V / P/ (eagle head) proofs. Lock marked: 1864, (eagle) and U.S. / SPRINGFIELD. Smooth walnut straight stock with three barrel bands (each marked with a U) and two sling swivels. Two faint cartouches to left side of stock. Metal ramrod. U.S. stamped metal carbine butt.

    Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a bright grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Noticeable scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
