    U.S. Allin "Trapdoor" Conversion Model 1866 Rifle, Bayonet, Cartridge Boxes and Waist Belt.
    Comprising: 1.) Allin Conversion Model 1866 rifle, serial no. NVSN, .50 caliber, 36 3/4-inch round barrel with fixed front and flip-up rear sights. Breechblock marking 1866 over American eagle; standard Civil War lock with Springfield markings, dated 1865. Hardwood stock, three barrel bands, metal butt plate, and rod. 2.) U.S. marked socket bayonet with a 18-inch, U.S. marked blade. Metal scabbard. 3.) 1 3/4-inch wide black leather waist belt with a rectangular brass "U.S." belt plate. The belt holds a regulation black-leather cap pouch, complete with inner wool lining, two Hagner-style leather cartridge boxes and a leather bayonet frog.

    Condition: 1.) Good. Metal with a smooth gray patina; dark, slightly pitted bore, mechanically sound. Stock worn with dents, dings, scratches and a small area of loss in the clearing rod channel. 2.) Very good. With staining and light surface rust from the scabbard. 3.) Generally very good. The belt is lacking some of the black surface finish and has a bit of red rot; the cartridges pouches and cap box display modest wear.
