    Description

    Unmarked Flintlock Blunderbuss. Unserialized, approximately 1 1/2-inch bore at muzzle, 19-inch swamped barrel profusely decorated with brass panoply-of-arms front band and brass inlay panels from the mid-point back to the breech. Engraved lock and hammer. Iron triggerguard with pineapple finial. Hardwood stock with steel buttplate and integral, engraved upper tang and iron sling rings. Brass oval at top of wrist. Iron button-tip ram rod of correct length. Condition: Good to very good. Metal surfaces mostly with a rich, dark patina. Brass with age wear and mellow lustre. Front band a bit loose. Action functions. Upper tang screw a possible replacement. Tang slightly proud to wood. Stock is good with numerous dents and minor losses at tang, buttplate and backplate. A nice example.
