    Unique Spanish or Italian Miquelet Boy's Rifle.

    Unserialized, approximately .44 caliber, 18-inch part round/part octagonal tapered barrel with molded band and inlaid gold proofs at breech. No barrel bands present. Miquelet lock. Maker's mark on frizzen, illegible. Fluted Madrid style walnut stock, please note the quality of carving similar to a fine violin or a cello of the period. Obviously of unique and highest quality. Engraved steel furniture front of triggerguard. Scroll engraving on butt of great quality, possibly H S. Steel triggerguard. One-piece wooden ramrod, full length of barrel. Interesting size as well as great detail went into this miquelet fowling piece.

    Condition: Very good for its age. Metal showing dark mottled patina and scattered light pitting and some surface rust to protected areas. Marred screws. Wood showing wear, minor dents and bruises present. Buttcap loose. Action functions, needs a little adjusting to make hammer come down easier. Bore a bit dark and pitted.
