    Rare Le Page Boy's Percussion Musket by Repute that of Prince Leopold of Belgium Duke of Brabant, Count of Hainaut c. 1865
    The small scale boy's military percussion musket reportedly made for Prince Leopold of Belgium, Duke of Brabant, Count of Hainaut. This gun was manufactured by the noted French maker Le Page, of Paris, circa 1865. By repute it belonged to the Prince who died in 1869 of pneumonia after falling into a pond. .42 caliber, 22 ¾-inch barrel with three brass bands. Percussion lock marked: Le Page. Brass triggerguard. Fine burlwood walnut stock with royal cipher imprinted in right side of buttstock. Sling mounts. Period red leather sling. Flared tip steel ramrod. A unique and very collectible boy's percussion musket with royal cipher marking. Condition: Fine. Metal appears in-the-white with light wear overall. Wood with light wear and minor marks. Action crisp. Sling with wear and checking to surface.
