    Percussion Kentucky Rifle by W. Strain. Unserialized, approximately .38 caliber, 42 1/2-inch octagonal barrel. Low, blade front and fixed rear sights. Barrel marked ,"W. STRAIN." and lightly decorated with floral and star motifs. Lock is engraved with fine period duck hunting scene and marked, "JOSEPH GRIFFITH/LOUISVILLE,KY." Brass furniture. Fine, tiger maple stock with cheek piece. Hardwood ramrod. Set triggers.
    Condition: Very good. Barrel a thin brown patina. Wear, pitting and wood losses at breech. Stock is good as configured, with age wear and patina. Large section on right side has been replaced. Action functions.
