    Ornate Turkish Flintlock Rifle by Fatou of Paris.
    Unserialized, approximately .76 caliber, 43-inch octagonal barrel. High relief decorated engraved lockplate marked FATOU with Damascene gold and intricate scrollwork throughout. Octagonal damascus barrel with silver and gold inlay work near breech, midpoint and muzzle area. Inner muzzle gold inlays visible. Silver barrel bands with pattern and designs of the period. Supporting steel and silver furniture with scrolls and designs. Fullstock, hardwood with horn forend, typical of the Ottoman Empire style and feel. Mother of Pearl inlays on upper tang and buttstock area along with wood work. Associated leather strap included. Steel and shaped ramrod present. According to research, Fatou of Paris was known to have worked in Paris from 1790's to early 1800's.

    Condition: Fair to good. Showing moderate to heavy overall wear. Scuffs and losses to finish, decorations and furniture. Stock with numerous dings, mars, repairs and heavy losses to buttstock area. Horn forend with cracks and losses. Some MOP inlays missing to buttstock and to upper tang. Marred and replaced screws. Leather sling not original to the gun. Action ok, Bore dark.
