    Lefever Double Barrel Side Lock Hammerless Shotgun Contained in Original Russet Leather Leg-O-Mutton Travel Case Belonging to Amos Buck, Noted Bitterroot Valley Settler and Volunteer in the Battle of Big Hole, Montana, August 9th & 10th, 1877.
    Serial no. 17029, 12 gauge, 30-inch Damascus barrels with brass bead front sight and spade pattern barrel locking bolt at breech. Case-hardened side-lock action, the sides marked: Lefever Arms Co. Patent dates on lower tang reading: 1872, '80,'85,'86, '87. Thumb lever barrel release and thumb activated wrist safety. Two triggers. Checkered pistol-grip walnut buttstock and checkered walnut fore-end with push-button barrel release. Hard rubber factory buttplate. Contained in period floral-tooled russet leather "Leg-O'-Mutton" travel case marked: Amos Buck/Stevensville, Montana. Condition: Fair to good. Showing smooth grey age patina with scattered light spots of surface rust present. Wood showing heavy wear and bruises. Action sound. Barrels need cleaning. Case with wear, scuffs and minor seam separations. This is an antique firearm and is not warranted for use.
