DescriptionIndian Flintlock Musket, Circa 1811. No visible serial number, 1-inch muzzle diameter, 44 1/4-inch part round/octagonal barrel with flared muzzle. Barrel engraved with floral decoration on the breech and at the muzzle. Lock dated 1811 and additionally marked with a rampant tiger (or lion). Full stock decoratively carved near the butt and breech and inlayed with mother of pearl. Horn buttcap. Four brass wire barrel bands and two sling swivels retaining small portions of a contemporary leather sling. Ramrod.
Condition: Good. Metal parts have a thin coating of surface rust. Much of the mother of pearl is lacking on the buttcap and butt. Stock cracked near the muzzle and chipped and worn along the edges. Sold as a decorator only.
