    Half-Stock Percussion Rifle by Stuart. Unserialized, approximately .38 caliber, 30-inch octagonal barrel with dove-tailed brass blade front sight. Notched open rear sight. Barrel flat marked: C. STUART / BINGHAMTON, N.Y. Lock by ASHMORE and engraved with dog-and-bird scene. Double-set triggers. Brass furniture including beautiful stag on cheek rest and patchbox. Walnut stock with fine checkering to wrist. Fore-end with pewter tip. Curved buttplate. Hickory ram rod retained by 2 steel thimbles. Upper tang tapped for rear sight.

    Condition: Fine. Barrel a smooth, slightly mottled blue-brown patina. High point edge wear. Brass with dark, mellow age patina. Stock fine with light soiling and just a few scattered dents. Action needs adjustment; hammer does not lock up. Bright bore showing light wear.
