    Description

Fine Condition .54 Caliber Percussion Austrian Lorenz Rifled Musket. .54 caliber configuration with very good bore. and lock marked "59" for 1859 production date. Stock maker's mark "Bentz" stamped behind the rear trigger guard extension and letter "A" carved on buttstock on left side. Imported extensively by both sides during the war, this example, remaining in .54 caliber is, in fact, a likely candidate for Confederate use. Overall nice and clean with just some small minor areas of light pitting. Wood really excellent just showing light honest wear with a small old chip behind the lock and a few scattered dents. Fine example of this very serviceable and well liked imported rifle, used extensively by both sides during the war.
