Description
European Flintlock Musket with Bayonet.Unserialized, approximately .70 caliber, 42-inch barrel with fixed front sight. Various proof marks to left side of barrel. Smooth hardwood stock with three barrel bands and two sling swivels. Wood ramrod. Metal buttplate. Socket bayonet included with 14-inch blade. Original brass museum inventory tag attached: J.M. DAVIS / 7659 and G267 / MEMORIAL.
Sold to Benefit The JM Davis Collection at the JM Davis Arms and Historical Museum, Part II.
Condition: Very good as cleaned. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with scattered signs of handling wear and patches of pitting. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruising to wood. Action crisp. Pitted bore.
