    C. 1845 Full Stock Percussion Central Pennsylvania Rifle. 40" full octagonal .36 caliber rifled barrel. Barrel bears the script signature L. F (xxxxx), letters after F undecipherable. Gun overall completely untouched with wonderful dark patina. All brass furniture with nicely engraved four piece patchbox with flower finial. Unmarked Back action lock with plain brass side plate that matches the configuration of the lock. 3" brass toeplate. Dovetailed, decorated rear notch V sight and dovetailed brass blade front sight. Plain maple stock with rich patina about perfect, just one tine hair line with old repair and no loss behind the hammer. Small silver inlay on each side of wrist and unengraved oval silver wrist escutcheon. Large oval silver inlay on the moulded cheeckpiece, displaying a wonderful engraved, rather primitive, spread wing eagle. Typical slender central Pennsylvania architecture and furniture with very long tail pipe. Functional double set triggers. A really exceptional example of a Central Pennsylvania percussion rifle, for both quality and its superb untouched condition.
