    Description

    British Whately Flintlock Musket.
    Unserialized, approximately .74 caliber, 44-inch barrel with fixed front sight. Lock marked: WHATELY. Flintlock action. British proof to left side of barrel. Smooth hardwood full stock, with three brass barrel bands, sling swivels and leather shoulder sling. Brass triggerguard and buttplate. Metal ramrod.
    Provenance: National Cowboy & Western Heritage Museum. Sold to benefit the Museum's collections and acquisitions.

    Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with noticeable signs of wear and patches of pitting. Heavy bruising, dings and scuffs to wood. Several large cracks around action. Some cracking and fading to leather. Action tight. Dark bore.
