    Description

    British Vaughn 1745 Brown Bess Flintlock Musket.
    Unserialized, approximately .78 caliber, 42-inch barrel with fixed front sight. Blued finish. Lock marked: I / VAUGHN / 1745 and (crown) / GR. Smooth hard wood stock with brass fore-end cap, triggerguard and buttplate marked: F / 37. "H" carved to right side of stock. Sling swivel and metal ramrod.

    Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with noticeable signs of wear and surface rust. Heavy scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Large crack to right side of forearm and left side of wrist. Wood loss to right side of stock, near top of buttplate. Action functions. Pitted bore.
