    Description

    British Tower 1838 Percussion Rifle. NVSN, approximately .58 caliber, 32-inch barrel with standard fixed sights. Lock marked: (crown) / VOR and 1838 / TOWER. Various British proofs. Walnut stock with two barrel bands, sling swivels and canvas shoulder sling. Cleaning rod. Carbine metal buttplate. Property from the Estate of John R. Eckel, Sr.

    Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey age patina with noticeable wear and pitting. Wood showing heavy bruising, scuffs and dings. Seven trivial rivets to left side of stock at corner of buttplate. Action needs adjustment. Normal age wear to sling.
