Belgian M1844/60 .69 Caliber Percussion Rifled Musket. Imported in fairly substantial quantities, primarily for use by Federal troops, this being a very fine example. All metal smooth and dark, untouched, with various Belgian proofs on the lock and barrel. Very fine bore, mechanically perfect. Stock with some minor dents from use but excellent with nice patina and sharp edges. Stock with a Liege stamp on the face of the butt and the name "J. H. Gardner" marked in the wood opposite the lock with a single die stamp. Complete and original in every respect including the original ramrod. Very fine example of this well made imported Civil War musket.
