    Bakumatsu Japanese Tanegashima Matchlock Musket c. 1850-60.
    .54 caliber, 40-inch octagonal barrel [tsutsu] with swamped muzzle and pedestal sights. Barrel pinned to stock. Brass furniture. Simple, unadorned matchlock mechanism. Constructed by: Tomi yoshi Oo hashi. Manufactured in the Bakumatsu, or the ending period of Tokugawa Era in the 1850s, for the low ranking Samurai clansman. Approximately 156 years old.
    Condition: Very good as refinished. Showing age wear and patina
