    Description

    Marlin Ballard No. 5 Pacific Rifle. Serial no. 19816, .40-85 caliber, 32-inch heavy octagonal barrel with Rocky Mountain sights. Left side marked MARLIN FIRE ARMS CO. NEW HAVEN CT. U.S.A. / BALLARD'S. PATENT. NOV. 5. 1861. Blued finish. Double triggers. Walnut stock and fore-end with crescent butt plate. Ramrod appears to be a replacement.
    Condition: Very good. Original finish with a smooth brown patina. Wear to the high areas and scattered light scratches and pits. Lever pivot screw head marred. Stock and fore-end with moderate scratches and dents. Action functions properly. Dark bore but the rifling remains distinct.
