Description

Winchester Third Model Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial no. 121484, .44 RF caliber, 20-inch round barrel with fixed front sight and standard two-position rear carbine sight. Blued finish. Saddle ring. Brass receiver. Walnut stock and fore-end. Buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. No cleaning rod present. Manufactured in 1874.
Condition: Very good. Finish primarily a dark grey age patina with wear and scattered surface rust. Brass shows even overall light wear. Wood displaying scuffs, dings and bruising, some minor wood loss to edges of fore-end. Action function. Dark bore.
