    Description

    Winchester Third Model 1876 Lever Action Rifle. Serial no. 55082, .40-60 caliber, 28-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and rear ladder sight. Blued finish. Varnished walnut stock and fore-end. Crescent buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. No cleaning rod present. Manufactured in 1885. Property from the Estate of John R. Eckel, Sr.

    Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 20-30% finish, the balance a smooth plum grey age patina with noticeable wear and pitting. Dust cover a replacement, along with a couple of screws. Wood showing heavy scuffs, dings and bruising. Minor wood loss and cracking present around some edges. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
