    Description

    Winchester Third Model 1873 Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial no. 122814A, .44 caliber, 20-inch barrel with fixed front sight and rear folding ladder sight. Blued finish. Straight walnut stock and fore-end. Carbine metal buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. No cleaning rod present. Manufactured in 1883.

    Condition: Fair to good. Finish primarily a dark mottled grey patina with noticeable wear and pitting throughout. Dust cover absent. Heavy wear to stock and wood loss, mainly at left side of wrist. Large crack to base of fore-end past barrel band. Screw absent to base of buttplate. Action good. Dark bore.
