    Winchester Third Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial no. 148727, .44 caliber, 20-inch barrel with fixed front and rear ladder sight. Blued finish. Brass receiver. Saddle ring. Walnut stock and fore-end. Crescent metal buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. No cleaning rod present/ Manufactured in 1878. Property from the Estate of John R. Eckel, Sr.

    Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 20-30% finish, the balance a smooth grey patina with wear and pitting present. Wood showing heavy wear at buttplate and fore-end. Minor wood loss at edges and noticeable crack to right side at wrist. Lever lock safety a replacement. Action tight. Moderately pitted bore.
