Description
Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle.Serial no. 88749, .45-70 caliber, 26-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Folding peep sight on upper tang. Checkered walnut straight stock and fore-end. Checkered factory buttplate. Manufactured in 1894.
Condition: Good. Finish primarily a smooth grey patina with noticeable signs of age, handling wear and patches of pitting. Rear sight absent. Scattered dings and scuffs present to wood. Large loss to base of stock. Grip cap insert is missing. Action very tight, but functions. Strong bore.
