Description
Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle. Serial no. 114801, .40-65 W.C.F. caliber, 26-inch round barrel with fixed front sight and rear elevation sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer, frame, fore-end cap and buttplate. Varnished walnut stock and fore-end. Crescent buttplate. Manufactured in 1898.Condition: Good. Finish primarily a grey age patina with wear, staining and patches of pitting. Elevation ramp for rear sight absent. Noticeable repair to upper tang. Wood has been shellacked, showing signs of scuffs dents and bruises. Large dent to left side of fore-end and a few noticeable chips to left side of stock. Action is tight. Dark bore.
