Description
Winchester Model 1886 Lever Action Rifle. Serial no. 56636, .45-70 caliber, 26-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and rear elevation sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer, frame, fore-end cap and buttplate. Varnished walnut stock and fore-end. Checkered hard rubber buttplate. Manufactured in 1891.Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 10-15% of a thinning finish, the balance a grey age patina with scattered wear, dings and patches of pitting. Wood excellent as refinished, showing light scuffs and scratches. Crisp action. Moderately pitted bore.
