Description

Winchester Model 1876 Lever Action Rifle. Serial no. 22321, .45-60 caliber, 28-inch octagonal barrel with dovetailed front and ladder rear sights. Blued and case-hardened finish. Walnut stock with curved steel buttplate and storage compartment. Manufactured 1882.

Condition: Very good. Barrel retains approximately 15-20% blue, the balance a thin gray-blue patina with light scratches. Receiver is a nice smooth silvered patina with traces of case colors. Stock is good with honest age wear and patina. Left side of buttstock has three small pin holes, the vestige of a period decoration. Small chip to right side of forearm. Action is solid. Bright, strong bore with patches of moderate pitting.
