Description
Winchester Model 1873 Lever Action Rifle.Serial no. 367836B, .38 caliber, 24 1/4-inch octagonal barrel with dovetailed brass blade front sight. Sporting adjustable rear sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Brass elevator marked: .38 CAL. Smooth, varnished walnut stock. Curved steel buttplate with storage. Carved initial E on stock at lower tang. Manufactured 1891.
Condition: Very good. Finish is a slightly mottled, mostly smooth dark blue-brown patina with scattered small patches of fine pitting. Stock very good with only two small chips at bottom of left wrist and at top of buttplate. A later applied varnish now with heat and age texture but only minor losses. Light handling wear. Bore is good with moderate wear and pitting throughout. Action good.
