Winchester Model 1866 Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial no. 45588, .44 caliber, 20-inch barrel with fixed front sight and folding rear sight. Blued finish. Brass frame. Saddle ring. Straight-grained oil-finished walnut stock and fore-end. Crescent buttplate. Manufactured in 1870. Property from the Estate of John R. Eckel, Sr.

Condition: Good. Finish primarily a plum brown age patina with scattered wear and pitting. Loading gate absent. Wood showing heavy dings, scuffs and minor loss at edges. Numerous notches to top of stock and HO carved to right side of stock. Action needs adjustment, small inner part absent. Dark bore.
