    Description

    Winchester Model 1866 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial no. 51119, .44 caliber, 20-inch blued round barrel with standard barrel band front sight and two-position rear flip-up sight. Top of barrel marked: Winchester Repeating Arms New Haven Ct./King's Improvement-Patented March 29, 1866 October 16, 1860. Nickel-plated brass frame. Saddle ring and loop. Nickel-plated hammer, trigger, lever and buttplate. Varnished walnut stock and fore-end. Crescent butt. Condition: Very good as refinished. Barrel and magazine polished and showing brown patina mixed with blue. Frame retaining approximately 70-75% of an old renickel with patches of brass showing through. Hammer, trigger, lever and buttplate retaining traces of old nickel. Wood sanded and refinished over patches of staining. Action good.
