Winchester Model 1866, 4th Model Lever Action Rifle.

Serial no. 150127, .44 caliber [rimfire and centerfire], 24 1/4-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front sight and rear elevation sight. Blued and case-hardened finish. Brass receiver. Smooth oil-finished walnut straight stock and steel fore-end. Crescent brass buttplate with cleaning rod reservoir. Manufactured in 1878. Note: This 4th model is usually found with a steel fore-end and buttplate, but being so close to end of the 3rd model range, we believe it was fitted as shown and soon after the steel features became standard. Total production reached around 170,000 from 1866 to 1898 [for all models].

Condition: Good to very good for this model. Finish primarily a dark grey patina with noticeable areas of age handling wear. Brass frame good with age wear. Scattered scuffs, dings and bruising present to wood. Cleaning rod absent. Action good. Moderately pitted bore.
