    Spencer Model 1865 Saddle Ring Carbine by Burnside. Serial no. 22104, .52 caliber, 20-inch round barrel with military sights. 3-groove rifling and Burnside address. Blued and case-hardened finish. Smooth walnut stock with single sling swivel. Saddle ring present on left side just below inspector's initial M. Toe of butt with hand carved initials M.H.
    Condition: Very good. Barrel with strong traces of blue in protected areas, the balance a thin blue-gray patina with scattered spotting. Receiver a mottled gray-brown patina with light spotting. Stock very good. Possibly revarnished. Action tight. Bore is good.
