Description
Savage Model 1899 Lever Action Rifle. Serial no. 158918, .30-30 caliber, 22-inch barrel with front and rear sights. Blued finish. Smooth walnut straight stock and forearm. Metal buttplate. Sold with mounted leather shoulder sling.Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 55-60% of finish. Majority of finish thin at the receiver. Overall scattered scratches to metal and wood from use. Sling is in good condition. Action is a little tight. Bore is good, needs cleaning.
David Mamet's Notes: Here we have a classic Deergun, which I used for that purpose. In the older days, in the country these were "all over the shop," in any country store one entered.
