    Rare Engraved Winchester Model 1866 Lever Action Saddle Ring Carbine. Serial no. 101667, .44 caliber, 20-inch barrel, the front sight integral with barrel band, the rear with standard two-position folding "V"-notch sight. X mark on top of breech. Blued finish. Case-hardened hammer and lever. Brass frame engraved with floral scrolls and circular pictorial vignettes of game, the left side a depiction of a standing deer, the right side with a bear fishing in a mountain stream. Saddle ring. Walnut fore-end and buttstock. Carbine butt with brass buttplate and cleaning rod reservoir with sliding access cover. Condition: Fair to good as configured. Barrel and tubular magazine retaining strong traces of early reblue in protected areas. Metal polished and showing grey-brown patina. Brass elements with attractive mellow age patina. Barrel band screw marred. Hammer and lever now showing dark age patina. Wood with light sanding, wear and minor marks. Action good. Bore with wear.
