    Marlin Model 97 Lever Action Rifle with Inscription. Serial no. 317282, .22 caliber, 24-inch octagonal barrel with fixed front blade sight and rear elevation sight. Blued finish. Case-hardened receiver. Varnished walnut straight stock and fore-end. Right side of stock features plaque with inscribed: F.E. WILBUR / "BUCKSKIN FRANK" / MARLAND, OKLAHOMA. Checkered factory hard rubber buttplate. Manufactured in 1905. Property from the Estate of John R. Eckel, Sr.

    Condition: Good. Retaining approximately 20-30% finish, the balance a mottled brownish grey patina with signs of wear and scattered pitting. Wood showing scuffs, dings and scratches. Noticeable wood loss to base of stock. Rubber loss to both top and bottom of buttplate. Action crisp. Moderately pitted bore.
