    Marlin-Ballard Single Shot Lever Action Rifle. Serial no. 30364, .32 Long, 28-inch octagonal barrel with front and rear sight. Blued finish with case-hardened frame, buttplate, lever and hammer. Target rear tang sight. Left side of frame marked: Marlin Fire Arms Co. New Haven CT. USA / Patented, February 9 1875 / Ballard's Patent Nov. 5 1861. Varnished walnut stock and fore-end. Crescent buttplate. Condition: Very good. Retaining approximately 90% blued finish on barrel. 40-45% case-hardened finish on frame, buttplate, lever and hammer with most of the losses to right side of frame. Scattered light pitting to frame, moderate pitting on buttplate. Target tang sight has been reblued, age has not been confirmed, possibly contemporary. Wood in good condition with light to moderate dings throughout. Action is good. Bore is fair, pitting present.
